          DESERT STORM TRIP REPORT

          I. 10 Dec 90 - 15 Apr 91 King Khalid Military City, Kingdom
          Saudi Arabia
         
         Position; Services Operations Officer
         Scope: Food Service, Billeting, Postal. Mortuary, Laundry
         Exchange, TFE
         
          Population: Arrived to 500 personnel, Peak during war 2200

          II. 16 Apr 91 - 15 Jun 91 Csiro West Air Base, Egypt
         
         Position: Chief of Services/Chief of MWR
         Scope: Food Service, Billeting, Contract Linen Exchange,  TFE,
         Mortuary, MWR - tours,  theater, rec centers,  weight rooms all
         ranks club. 
         
         Population: Arrived to 750 personnel.
         I. KKMC - Lessons learned/positive-negative experiences
         
         A. Initisl deployment was a 4F9RM team# a UTC not even on our
         books,  however it was filled by SVS Operations Officer (myself),
         Sat Will Somers 62350,  A1C Ramon Jimenes, A1C Ferdinand Friss,
         Sat Richard Hensley 623X0s,  Sgt Ronnie Conrad 645X0, SSgt Billie
         Yates 702X0. Departed Bergstrom AFB TX 0515 11 Dec 90 direct to
         McGuire AFB NJ on 712th ASOC dedicated C-141,  with 2  712th
         members and 9 CES enlisted personnel,  I was troop commander. The
         flight was approximately 3 hours, endured 2 hour layover, took
         off for Torrejon AB, Spain thus requiring NATO orders for all
         PAX. Landing at Torrejon at 0200 local, we were taken to PAX
         holding ares in a converted hangar. Showers were avail,  as well
         as TV, coffee,  approx 500 cots and a field kitchen outside served
         meals around the clock for passing personnel. OUTSTANDING
         organization,  coordination and wonderful personnel made this stop
         feel like the last taste of home. We were airborne again at 0430
         local and landed KKMC after eight hour flight, at 1400 local.
         Deployed with A Bag, 50.00 $ advance pay, C Bag, Mini C bag, and
         homeststion team kits, 9  MREs, M-16 per individual, ammo, 38 mm
         (I had to fight to get M-l6 also), helmet,  flack vest,  web belt, 
         canteen, 90- day supply of toiletries, minimum civilian clothes
         (a mistake I will cover later), uniforms, my mini compact
         refrigerator, and misc items.
