			Unit Data Information

		By the time the 48th Tactical Fighter Wing Provisional
made final preparations for eventual combat operations, it had
2,775 personnel assigned, from 255 units 67 base representing
11 major commands. The 48th Tactical Fighter Wing possessed sixty
four F-lllF aircraft flown by crews of the 492nd, 493rd and 494th
Tactical Fighter Squadrons. The electronic combat missions were
tasked to the 13 EF-lllAs of the 366th and 5 EF-lllAs of the 20th
Tactical Fighter Wings and their 390th and 42nd Electronic Combat
Squadrons respectively.

		(U) Key personnel of the wing included Colonel Thomas J.
Lennon as wing commander, Colonel Barry L. Ream as his vice
commander and four deputy commanders for the major functional areas
of the wing. Colonel William McAdams was the deputy in charge of
operations, while in heading up maintenance was Colonel Clifford E.
Wurster. Colonel Corwin E. Chambers oversaw the resources while
Colonel David E. Benson was in charge of combat support.
