  LOGISTICS ISSUE NO. 17 Control of BW/CU Assets

  DISCUSSION: AFM 67-1, Vol V, Chap 15, paragraph 28 requires medical supply
  section to record the manufacturer and lot number of the BW/CU asset being
  issued. Requirement is time consuming and of no value. Once assets deployed
  with personnel there is no method of locating that person. Information
  gathered was of no value.
 
  RECOMMENDATION: Change AFM 67-1 to provide better instructions to make
  information usable, or delete this requirement.
 
  ACTIONS REQUIRED: Update AFM 67-1.
 
  ACTIONS COMPLETED: Update of AFM 67-1 has been completed to provide better
  instructions.
 
  STATUS: Recommend closure.
