        SUBJECT: HQ AFMPC Manpower Taskings

        BACKGROUND: HQ AFMPC tasked AFLC with a number of Palace Trips. Many times
        we had a very short lead time (48-72 hours) to respond. On a number of
        occasions we found that HQ AFMPC had received these requirements at least two
        weeks prior to our receipt of the tasking.

        DISCUSSION: HO AFMPC's action provided less then optimal time for individuals
        to react to "askings. The duration of the taskings were often 90-180 days.
        It would have been better to permit individuals additional time to prepare for
        these extended TDYs.  

        ACTION RECOMMENDATION: HQ AFMPC provide additional time for individual
        response to Palace Trips.
