STIBJECT.- THE FY 1991 Influenza Immunization Program
(4) Order influenza immunizations and medical supplies
required for implementation of the program through Class VIII
supply channels.
(5) Report the status of the Influenza Immunization
Program to the Corps Surgeon's Office when immunizations are SO/
and 100% complete.
b- Commanders of units with organic medical support will:
(1) Coordinate with the units without organic medical
support within their AOR to develop a program to incorporate
them into the influenza immunization program.
:1'(2) Order the vaccines and supporting supplies for the
units without organic medical support within their ADR.
(3) Immunize the soldiers of units without organic
medical support within their ADR.
c:. Commanders of units without organic medical support will
coordinate with the medical unit providing area medical support
far their unit to plan their implementation of the immunization
program, supply ordering and immunization schedule.
d. Ist N will:
(1) Order influenza immunizations and medical supplies
required for the implementation of the Immunization Program for
the XVIII Airborne Corps AUR through Class VIII supply channels.
4. General.
a. All active duty military and reservists 6n active duty,
with the exception of soldiers identified in para 4b, will
receive one intramuscular dose of 0.5 cc of this year's
trivalent influenza vaccine.
b. Soldiers who have a documented history of anaphylactic
sensitivity to eggs should not receive influenza vaccine.
Personnel with a questionable history of egg sensitivity should
rior to receiving influenza
vaccine. Allergy to influenza vaccine should not be confused
with mild systemic reactions of fever, malaise, myalgia and
local redness or induration at the vaccination site. These side
effects are self-limited and usually persist for only i-2 days.
Individuals who have an acute febrile illness should not be
vaccinated until asymptomatic:.
