yet we haven't resourced the-i-ecluirement to extend two
               frequencies more than 25 - 30 km.

a A real eavesdrop capability on both MSRT and DNVT (phones) of
the MSE system. The conference call is not the answer as
               presently done.

a More FM radios and MSE equipment in the DISCOM and Division
Rear Command Post. With more radios, we could siqhificantly
improve the responsiveness and agility of logistics operations.
We've known this for years. We need to fix it now.

o An additional signal company in the division signal battalion
to provide two more node centers and four remote access units
(RAUs). The current T@ provides two companies with four node
centers total. Fortuitously, we brought an additional MSE signal
company with us from Europe (C/17 Signal Bn) which gave us the
capability to emplace six node centers. Without this company,
our signal battalion could not have accomplished its mission.

a Fifteen secure single-channel, TACSAT radios. This
communications device proved indispensable and became our primary
means c4 coordinating our actions with the IAD and irD to our
flanks and the VII Corps staff. We only had two. Fifteen seems
to be an armored division's requirement.

a Two mirror image, division command posts, capable of operating
on the move and being split four ways. This would improve
survivability, provide redundancy, and enhance flexibility of the
C' system. Additionally, it would facilitate the planning,
integration, and execution & close and deep operations.

a An improved, secure high frequency radio (AM) for
communication at division level and below. We need the range AM
radio provides. Although brand new, the current IHFR equipment
proved unsatisfactory despite our best efforts to make it work.

o Two specially designed and equipped aerial platforms to
retransmit three FM frequencies. The preferred platform is a
               UH-60 helicopter.
