        5. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY/EVENT:

        The Ready First Combat Team (RFCT) received the order at approximately
        1-41000CFEB91 to move to and cross the LI). This was one day earlier than the
        original plan had specified. The RFCT moved in a modified Bde diamond. TF 3-5
        CAV in the lead with B Btry 2-3 FAI TF 4-32 AR to the left rear and TF 4-34 AR
        to the right rear. The remainder of the RFCT followed respectively in the
        center with the RFCT TAC, A and C Batteries of 2-3 FA Bnl 12th EN Bn (-), RFCT
        TOC, Combat Trains and the 503 FSB. The RFCT crossed the LD at approximately
        241621CFEB91 and continued its movement north to just short of PL APPLE where
        the RFCT halted for the night. At the halt, the RFCT remained in the modified
        diamond and conducted maintenance and re-Fueling operations. Because of the
        separation between tne RFCT and 3rd Bae, to its rear and south, the RFCT CDR
        deployed two company teams from TF 4-32 AR in a connecting file wnxch ran from
        the rear of TF 4-34 AR to Passage Point 32, at the berm. The objective of tnis
        deployment was to link up with Srd Bde south of the berm, wni!L- also :)rov@trg
