           COMMANDER'S UPDATE

           FROM: CDR, 422nd MED DET (VET SERVICE LARGE)

           1. MAJOR SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES (LAST WEEK)

             a. Sggth MED DET (JA) preparing for redeployment. Will leave
                KKMC 23 Mar 91 and planned departure from Dharhan 28 Mar 91.

             h. 1012th - no change from last week. SGT Hansen will cover
                this assignment as the 888th departs.

             c. Host Nation Warehouse - KKMC - no change from last week.

             d. Host Nation Warehouse - Hafr al Batin - no change in
                operations.

             e. EPW camps - EPW population for both camps remains 22,000.
                saudi's an site to phase in takeover. Negotiations not
                yet complete. SSG Debnarn moved from warehouse to EPW camps.

             f. 14th MED (PM) found plastic in ground beef at 332nd MED
                Brigade mess facility. Product was from an approved
                source - Al Zamil, Jubail. We are not sure if there is
                a connection between this incident and plastic in ground
                beef from a disapproved source - United Factories. Are
                investigating.

             g. SGT Dixon and SPC Snowden went to Dhahran to get on the
                "Love Boat". Only SPC Snowden got on, but the alternate,
                SGT Dixon, was not able to go.

             h. MAJ Schiller and SSG Chichester made revisions to the 2651
                last month. They made one supervisory visit to the Host
                Nation Warehouse in Hafr al Batin and the EPW camps. They
                made 2 supervisory trips to the KKMC inspection sites.
  40         i. COL Wesson and COL Trask made one supervise ry visit to the
                Host Nation Warehouse at Hafr al Batin and the 2 EPW camps.

     j. No supplies received this week. CPT Harris has checked at
                CIF for uniforms and other requisitioned items while SGT.
                Dixon is gone.
