                       PROTECTANT-
                   A. The Corps/division commander will decide who Is at risk, and
               when you should begin, continue, or discontinue TSP use based upon the
               threat,  The intelligence officer, chemical officer, and surgeon act as
               advisors to the commander.    When you apply the TSP, be sure you cover
               the skin adequately to protect against vesicant agents. You should be
               issued 2 bottles of TSP-each day, as required.

                  8    When applying TSP, you should first cover the body areas
               adjac;nt to closure of the Boo (wrist, neck, lower legs); your

               TSP to the groin area, creases and Crack of the buttocks, around the
               belt area, and the am pits.
                  C. Use the fol I owing procedural. steps.

                       I. Wipe al'i loose d@rt or sand from your hands, and al@other
               application areas. Dry all areas as much as possible; use your BOU or
               jacket or any other available item to dry yourself.
                       2. Remove the TSP container from your unifom. pocket.
                       3. Remove the container cap and squeeze a ribbon of TSP the
               di@meter of the bottle mouth and about 2 1/2 inches in length (width of
               the bottle) into your hand.
                       4. Rub your hands together, working the TSP into the palms of
               both hands to provide even coverage.
                       6. Apply the TSP to the wrists and backs of the hands.
                6. Repeat steps 3. and 4. above.
                       7. Apply this TSP to the neck (all surfaces lncluding.the back
               hairline, behind the ears, and the jaw line), then under the chin.
                       S. Repeat steps 3. and 4. above.
                       9. Apply TSP to the lower legs (2 Inches above and below the
               top of the boots); use one hand for each side.
