               S. Normally, TSP is effective for at least 6 hours under hot
climatic conditions with no exposure to rain, and minimal physical
abrasion of the TSP coating. However, TSP effectiveness does decrease
with wear time. There are several factors which influence the wear
          time.

                   1. TSP dries out.

                   2. Clothing can rub against TSP and remove It; other things,
such as sand or dirt can remove TSP also.

                   3. Heavy sweating or other wetting conditions can wash TSP off.

                   4. Intentional decontamination after a suspected agent
          exposure can remove TSP.

              C. Decontaminate the skin and remove TSP as soon after chemical
conta sible to prevent the vesicant agent from e@ing

          exposure to the underlying skin.

IV. IDENTIFY EFFECTS OF TSP ON OTHER NBC PROTECTIVE PATER IAL.

              A. Use the TSP in combination with the M17 and @140 protective
mask. There is no procedural change in the use of the protective.mask
          when using TSP.

                   1. There is no expected loss of vision resulting from eye
irritation or fogging of the mask lens.

                   2. There is a very slight vinegar odor.

              B. When using TSP with the battle dress overgarment (BOO), the
effectiveness of the BOO should not be reduced. When you use TSP as
directed, you can expect only a minor contamination of the active resin
on the BOO with the smal I amount o@viater in the TSP.

              C. When you use TSP under prolonged or close range monitoring with
the automatic detectors, you may get a false positive response for G
gent on the

                   1. M8 Al detector or Chemical Agent Monitor (CAM).

                   2. @IS paper (after.TSP completely dries on the paper)

             0. TSP does not give a false positive response for

                   1. G-agent with the M256 chemical detector kit
