When he got paint spray in his *you, Emard said it took a
nurse at a hospital 25 minutes away Moro than two hours of
continuing flushing to remove the paint.

"There were no medics on the scene" he said.

When a paint line broke, one worker was covered with paint.
It took several at the hospital to remove the paint from his
eyes, and five days to got it off his skin.

As a result of unit Members' complaints about the paint
job, Emard said a written order was posted in January
stating that members of the unit could "no longer discuss it
                outside our chain of command."

He said the paint site was off limits to journalists
                covering the war.

En slin said the 325th was among the first Florida Guard
                units Sent to S4Ual Aras)ial 4r.L.LV.Lsig LtlftL. SVVVWgukM, .TU@
unit is now scheduled to return to the States in early
August, 3naking it one of the last Florida units to leave.
"We are most eager to got them home,$' he said, adding that
he is attempting to work out a deal with the Army so
volunteer from other Florida units could be sent over as
substitutes for the Lake Wales unit.

"Itlo not the role of the Guard to pick up the pieces and
clean up after the Jkrmy," Eneslin said. "When the crisis is
over, the priority should be to get Guardsmen back to their
                families and jobs."
