       2. The 423rd Medical Company (Clearing) quickly became operational and ppo-
       vided excellent primary medical care to XVIII Airborne Corps and VII Corps
       soldiers. The unit simultaneously intensified training in the area of
       chemical casualty and mass casualty management. This command deserves
       recognition for its exceptional performance of duty and readiness to perform
       its medical support mission.
