was inside one of these stores at the time. She was unharmed in the
attack, however she is officially the first soldier'in the '-736th that was
involved in an actual attack. SST Suazo still hosted a Valentines Day
Flarty that evening. She went to church the following day.
February 15 1991. Unit receives the Anthrax Vaccine ("dont worry, it's
been approved by Veterinarians". )
February 24 1991. The U.S. begins a ground attack against Iraq that would
last for 100 hrs. The 236th Medical Company was actively involved with
MEDEVAC during the ground war. The 236th flew over 100 missions and over
140 flight hours evacuating over 205 patients from as far forward as the
FLOT, (Forward Line of Troops) in support of Operation Desert Storm
(ground phase).
February 28 1991. The U.S. calls a temporary cease-fire. Hostilities
against Iraq appear to be over. The 236th continues its mission of
MEDEVAC coverage in Iraq and Kuwait up to the present. (V.I.P. missions
have officially been reinstated, "DUSTOFF TO YA"!"!!)
ch 22 1991. The unit receives the much anticipated and highly sought
O'er D.C.U.'s. ("hey'll look good in Germany.)
March 22-Present. Numerous rumors are abound in the 236th. The light at
the end of the tunnel was apparently a man-@ale cover that leaked in some
light. Next big date to look forward to; 2 April 91 for the big Self
Deployment back to Germany. See you there, if not, we'll see you here.
