                                       to continue the attack at 251600 Feb 91 to
                                       occupy Attack Position Kelley. The
                                       Brigade had moved-45 kilometers since.
                                       midnight 24 Feb 91 and had seized 49
                                       prisoners of war.

                                       At 251121 Feb 91, the Brigade retagk
                                       organized to facilitate the attack into
                                       the Euphrates River Valley with TM A/1-18
                                       chopped to TF 1-18 and 4 ACES chopped to
                                       TF 2-69.   At 251610 Feb 91, the brigade
                                       continued the attack through the
                                       Shamiya Desert to Attack Position
                                       Kelley along two routes -- TF 2-69,-
                                       Brigade TAC CF, and 4-41 FA moved along
                                       Rt ALPHA and TF 1-18, Brigade RAIN CF,
                                       299th Engineer Battalion (-), 197th
                                       Support.Battalion, and TF 2-18 moved along
                                       Rt X-Ray. TF scoutg and engineer rbute
                                       marking teama proceeded main bod@ieg on
                                       each route.   By nightfall, a heavy rain
                                       was falling, significantly reducing march
                                       gpoods,   Load elomentif of the Brigade were
                                       now 231 kilometers into Iraq.

              28 Feb 91                Shortly after midnight,   in near zero
                                       visibility, the advance   to Attack Position
                                       Kelley was glowed.    Rt ALPHA ran into
                                       a deep,.steep, and endless wadi. ACES
                                       from the 299th Engineer Battalion (-) cut
                                       an entrance into the wadi some 50 feet
                                       below. - TF 2-69 Scoutg descended into the
                                       wadi and cleared a 30 kilometer route
                                       to Attack Position Xelley.- TF 2-   Og-,, the
                                       Brigade TAC CP, and 4-41 FA followed at
                                       260330 Feb 91. To the south, Rt X-Ray wag
                                       rerouted due to poor trafficability.'.
                                       The balance of TF 1-18, the'Brigade 14AIN
                                       CF, 299th Engineer Battali'on (-) , .197th
                                       Support Battalic;ii,- and 'TF 2-i8 closed on
