                             Charlie Company in Combat


                The soldiers of Charlie Company rang In the new year in the relative
             comfort afforded them by the facitties at Champion Main, Saudi Arabia.
           /-Althoughapprociativeoftheirbetter-than-averagelivingconditionsi
             there was still a great deal of anxiety surrounding the make-shift
                                          celebrations they enjoyed. What the
                                          future hold for than well trained, dart
                                          hardened soldiers was enurely unknown.
                                          In mid-January, C Company moved over
                                          1 50 miles south to Aff Range in
                                          anticipation of extensive Hve-fire
                                          breaftg rehearsms to be =ducted with
                                          3rd Brigade, The tr&ing however was
                                          interrupted just as it began, - Charfle
                                          Company, along with 3rd Brigab was
                                          ordered to establish an assembly'area
                                          Vlthin 48 hours near th6 villap of
                                          Thumam, over 300 rrles away.
