4(LW Organic Chemical Units. Iraqi Army
divisions have organic chemical reconnaissance/decontamination
compan@es. Iraqi chemical defensive personnel are 4@ncl.Lt(jed.-in.
reconnaissance units (advance gliard),during defensive operations
only vilnen General Headquarters in BAGHDAD gives notice of
impend4ng chemical operations. Chemical de,@ens:e units have the
TMS-65 decon system, DDA-66 autoclave decon system and ARS-12
dc-con vehicles. Recon assets are the Soviet style Br-.DM-2.
@i ( Le Individual Equipment. Iraqi soldiers
possess chemical Prot tive equipment. Most is Soviet made, such
as the Sh M Protective Mask and OP-1 NBC Protective Suit.
British Nerve Agent Antidote Kits are available. Iraqi soldiers
are considered competent in the wearing of chemical suits.

l(UW Iraqi Chemical. Release Authority. The
employment authority for chemical missile warheads (when avail-
able) will be SRddam Hussein. All other chemical weapons employ-
ment authority usually resides at General Headquarters in
BAGHDAD. olb corps commanders are granted release authority +or
artillery delivered chemical weapons. The encryption/decryption
device on standard telephone land lines is the primary means to
communicate release or employment orders. The secondary choice
is probably courier and third choice is radio.

8 (U) Intelligence reports indicate chemical
weapons may be deployed/dispersed. The following is a list or
