                  c. Hospitalization of Prisoners of war.

                      (1) Prisoners of war will be hospitalized and provided
              care in accordance with the provisions of the Geneva Convention.

                      (2) Upon request of the hospital commander, military
              police units with area or mission responsibility will provide
              guards for hospitalized prisoners of war.

                      (3) Prisoners of war will be searched upon admission to
              any hospital, upon discharge/evacuation from any hospital and at
              least daily while hospitalized. Whenever possible prisoner of
              war patients will be segregated from us and Allied patients.

                  d. Hospitalization of Civilians. Local national civilian
              patients, not otherwise entitled to US medical care, will not be
              treated by or hospitalized in US Army medical treatment
              facilities except under emergency conditions. Requests for
              waiver of'this policy will be submitted to USAREUR CSURG for
              approval and must include complete justification.

                  e. Protective Masks. Ind  ividual NBC protective magks will
              be kept in the immediate proximity of each patient throughout
              their period of hospitalization and evacuation.

                  f. Graves Registration. Hospitals will be required to
              provide an adequate holding area for remains. When available,
              Graves Registration personnel will be colocated with hospitals or
              at a minimum schedule regular pick-ups and provide on-call
              pickups of remains from all Corps hospital facilities.
