        VIII. Prognosis:
                  Treated exposure: excellent.
                  Treated clinical illness: uniformly fatal.

        IX. Public Health:
                  Capture and sacrifice of any animal implicated; examine
                       brain for rabies.
                  Education of troops to avoid stray or feral dogs, cats
                       and wild foxes.
