           visits for between 1 and 1.5% of the unit strength per week.     These were
           largely sports-related     (volleyball, football, etc).      Ophthalmologic
           problems (corneal abrasions from sand, epidemic conjunctivitis, etc) were
           never significant.    Psychiatric problems were also remarkably low in
           USMC forces. In addition, there were essentially no cases of unexplained
           fever in USMC forces, though sand-fly fever was anticipated.
