Reserve Allied Medical Program (RAMP). A RAMP member affiliates with
the Naval Reserve through a subset of the SAM program, and attends a
Navy-approved civilian training program in 1 of 13 technical specialties
such as laboratory, radiology, or operating-room technician. RAMPs do
not -routinely attend hospital corpsmen "A" school. At the completion of
training, the RAMP member receives the Navy enlisted classification
(NEC) for that specialty. RAMP participants may attend drills and serve
on annual training before completing their training program.
