                t'hen remove the cilli one and the            -,kin is decontaminated using the
                M291 pads, the M25BAl wipes, or                the 0.5 percent chlorine solution.

                                      2 Usually the aidman will cut away bandages. The
                didman decontaminates the area Around the wound with the 0.5 percent
                chlorin@ -solution. If bleeding begins the aidmcn replaces the
                bandage with a clean one. 00 NOT use the M291 pads or wipes from
                the M25F3AI 1.it arot)nd the wounds.

                                         00 NOT remove splints. Splints are decontaminated
                by applying klie 0.5 percent chlorine solution to them to include the
                pa(Jding and cravats. Splints are not removed until the patient has
                been'evocuated to a collection and clearing hospital. The patient
                is checked for completerie%5 of decontamination by use of ME3
                detection paper or the CAM.

                           (6) Stf@,i 7' Transfer the casualty acro5s                     the shuffle pit.
                The individual clothing has been c-ut away and his                        sviri, bandages,
                nnd splints ha%,e beat, decontaminated. The litt@r,                       is transferred to
                the shuffle pit and placed upon tite litter stands. T@ie shuffle pit
                is sufficiently wide eriuugli to proveiit members of                      the casualty d"con
                tt-arn to stradtjlp it while carrying the I i i ter .                   A tfiirtj member cif
                the decon team assists with transferring the patielit to a clean
                treatment litter in the sliufflc- pit.

                                 (a) Decontamination personnel rinse or wip3e down their-
                -apron-, and gloves with the 5 percent r-@ilat-ine solution.

                                 (b) Three decon team members li f t the patient off of the
                decontamination litter. One member places his arms urider t@te small
                of patient's back and butiocis; ajici the third places ii;-s arm.5 unde!
