SUBJECT:  Update on Biological Warfare Defense

      The vaccination team  from OTSG  brought  enough vaccine  for
                                  Until boarding  the aircraft  for
Saudi Arabia, they were of the belief that there was sufficient for
35,000.  The contractors were to have delivered this amount by late
December i~~o but                               are still awaiting
certification by the FDA.   Projected delivery is 25 Jan §1.

      Additional projected deliveries  (also pending FDA approval)
are:

      These  are  the  best  projections   based  on  testing   and
certification.

5.   Disposition of contaminated remains:

      A committee at the JCS led by ~eneral Delarosa is developing
the doctrine for disposition of contaminated remains.   One of the
members is to contact me today.   The doctrine is in a final draft
and  includes four in theater sites   for interment - I don't know
whether this is to be permanent or temporary interment.
