                             ANNEX C

(Self Aid/Buddy Aid Procedures) to Operation Desert Storrn NBC SOP

FOR NERVE AGENTS ONLY

1.   Self aid is performed as follows:

     a. Reinove one set of nerve agent antidote autoinjectors from
mask carrier.

     b. With one hand, hold the set of injectors.

     C. With the other hand, check thE.' injection site to avoid
buttons and objects in pockets.

     d. Grasp the small injector and foriti a fist around it without
covering the needle end.

     e. Places the needle (green) end of the injector against the
outer thigh muscle and push injector into muscle with firm, even
pressure until it functions.

     f. Hold injector in place for 10 seconds.

     g. Place used injector in other ~and.

     h. Grasp large injector as above, press in outer thigh muscle
for 10 seconds with firm,  even pressure.

     i. Push the needles of both injectors through the left pocket
flap of protective suit and bend needles to form hooks.

     j. Perform above actions within one minute.

     k. Monitor self for 10 - 15 minutEs. If syinptoms pers~st,
give yourself the second set of injectors as above.

     1. Monitor self for 10 -15 minutes. Lf syinptoTns persist, give
yourself the third set of injectors as a~ove.

2.   Buddy aid is performed as follows:

     a. Place mask on buddy, clear and se~~l it.
