The other additive for diesel fuel is called the Diesel Fuel
Stabilizer Additive and is described by ~IL-S-53O2l. There are
two types of stabilizer additive that have been qualified, a
two-package and one-package system. In the two-package type,
the biocide is in one package or container, and the remaining
multifunctional stabilizer/corrosion inhibitor additive, is in
the other. Both of them must be ordered and used together for
maximum effectiveness. Both are used at the rate of one gallon
per 5000 gallons of fuel. The one-package type stabilizer
additive however has both ingredients blended together in one
container. It is used at the rate of one gallon of addi~ive
              per 3500 gallons of fuel.

The National Stock Numbers for the three additives are given as follows:

14. That commercial diesel fuels are available in Saudi Arabia?

Answer: There are two general types of "diesel fuel" being marketed in
Saudi Arabia. One type is somewhat similar to our Diesel Fuel
Marine (i.e., MIt-F-16884) whereas the other is a heavier fuel
somewhat like our commercial 4-D Diesel or No 4 Fuel Oil. The
first type is refined to a specification "A-888 Diesel Gas Oil"
whereas the latter is refined to a specification "A-892 Bunker
              Diesel Fuel Oil".

15. Are either of these commercial fuel usable in ground materiel?

Answer: The A-888 Diesel gas Oil is considered an acceptable alternate
for diesel fuel (vv-F-800). ~owever, the A-892 Bunker Diesel
Fuel Oil would be an emergency fuel and should not be used.
