"Sha'bet"        15th January till 10th February.  The coldest
                 period of the year with clear skies and fresh
                 north wind.

`1Aqarib"        10th February till 8th March.  Very mixed
                 conditions generally cool with rain towards
                 the end of the period.

"Zer' an         8th March till 3rd April.  The beginning of
                 spring. A period of strong northerly winds.
                 Weather generally mild but exceptionally cold
                 periods of up to one week.

"Hamim"          3rd April till 29th April.  The season which
                 introduces summer; the last rains fall.  From
                 the 16th of the month summer clothes are
                 worn.

"Kan'nah"        29th April till 7th June.  A period of hot
                 weather.  High and constant winds, frequent
                 dust storms.

`1Thura'iah"     7th June till 20th June. Weather continues
                 hot but there is a slight drop in the
                 temperature.  The sea is traditionally
                 stormy.

"Tuwe'bea"       20th June till 3rd July. Period of the
                 longest day 14 hours and 2 minutes.  Heat
                 builds up again.

"1st Jowza"      3rd July till 16th July. Hot dry weather.
                 Day starts fairly calm but north wind
                 increases towards noon possibly raising dust.

"2nd Jowza"      16th July till 29 July.  Conditions similar
                 to 1st Jowza.  There may be a chanqe of wind
                 to the south and a period of intense humidity
                 towards the end of the month.

"Ner'zan"        29th July till 11th August. The hottest time
                 of the year.  Wind northerly of moderate
                 strength.

"Kulaibain"      11th August till 26th August.  The start of
                 the humidity and hot rather sticky weather
                 continues till the 26th when the heat begins
                 to abate.
