TOPIC:  Ainmunition

DISCUSSION:

Due to the open terrain conditions, artillery ammunition is
consumed in greater quantities in the desert environment.
Excessive heat also causes erratic ballastic behavior.

LESSON(S~ LEARNED:

Plan for increased consumption of artillery and anti-tank
ammunition.   If possible, store ammunition in a shaded storage
site, reducing the ambient temperature below 1000 F.
