Communication Battalion if a methodical process that maintains
uninterrupted service.

As the technical transition was taking place, those personnel and
equipment that were being replaced by Eighth Communication
Battalion were in turn being rapidly embarked on opportune
airlift. In this effort, the battalion was able to redeploy to
Camp Pendleton in record time. The battalion commander returned
to Camp Pendleton on 1 April 1991 officially ending the Ninth
Communication Battalion's effort in this incredibly historical
event. Nevertheless, the battalion's personnel continue to
support Marine forces throughout the Southwest Asia region as
part of two amphibious task forces, 5th MEB and 11th MEU.
