Maintenance Management
During January and February 1991, Marine Corps Intergrated
Maintenance Management System (MIMMS) was not automated.
Commodity shops created and tracked their Equipment Repair Order
(ERO's) and ERO Shipping List (EROSL's) manually. Shops located
within the combat trains carried tool boxes and pre-expend bin
items which were used to rapidly assess and repair deadlined
equipment. EROSL's were filled at either CSSD-17 or CSSD-10.
CSSD-17 was planning to carry a limited Class IX block for the
ground war, but this was never provided. Third echelon and above
repairs were conducted by CSSD-10. At the end of February, TFR
had two deadlined M60 Tanks, (one to a mine), and four of the 124
LVTP-7's were down. This was mainly due to mechs and techs

Support Area (DSA) where they would remain throughout the war.
CSSD-10 operated Regimental Unit Code (RUC) lines for all units
and Division Supply maintained open purchase RUC lines at the DSA.
During February the organic unit supply accounts remained
stationary and operated at the DSA. The Regimental Supply Officer
became the Laison Officer attached to CSSD-17 which supported TFR.
As the Task Force relocated further away from the DSA, units began
to depend on CSSD-17 for all of their supply support. Class IX
repair parts proved, once again, to be a problem obtaining in a
