- 0030, G/3/11 and E/2/12 received incoming indirect fire; no casualties.
- 0730, During occupation of firing position at OT 844014, 1/11 Jump CP
and A 1/11 advance party (with 2 howitzers) received incoming mortar
fire and exchanged automatic weapons fire from Iraqi vehicles to the
northeast.
- 0745, 1/1.1 displaced by echelon with H/3/1-4 and 1/3/1-1. Displacment
was delayed at second breach site due to TF Papa Bear engagement to
East. Batteries occupied firing positions near grid OT 8300.
- 0753, Division FSCC requested that Ilth Marines attack an
armor/mechanized brigade forming at OT 893023 4@d an armored brigade
forming at OT 874097. At this time, only one battery was oriented on
this area. The Regt FDC directed all battalions to orient on these
counterattack forces and issued aL fire order "Regt 4 rounds DPICM or
RAP as range appropriate tot 0817' for target AY0013 the
armored/mechanized brigade and "Regt 4 rounds DPICM or RAP as range
appropriate TOT 0820' for target AY 1004.the armored brigade.
- 0817, llth Marines massed 11 Batteries from 4 Battalions firing rounds
of RAP and rounds of DPICM on target AY 1003, the armor/meclianized
brigade forming at grid QT 893023, 244 rounds of RAP and DPICM
expended.
- 0820, Ilth Marines massed 13 batteries from all five battalion firin441
rounds of RAP and rounds of DPICM on target AYlGe4, the armored brigade
forming at grid OT 874097. 496 rounds of RAP and DPICM expended.
- 0830, 1/11 reoriented on azimuth of fire 2700 aimpoint grid OS 91-90 to
support TF Papa Bear engagement with Iraqi counterattack force.
- 0910, A/l/11 displaced forward through second breach and closed on 1/11
,near grid QT 8300.
- 0930, 5/11 began displacement forward through second breach and
the battalion FireCap
ready at 1130. .
- 101.5, Pride FWD CP engages elements of Iraqi armor force with AT-4's,
Cobras, and LAI's at OS 8598, began engaging the Iraqi. force.
- 1030, 1/11 received incoming mortar fire at grid OS 81.0995, '- WIA
reported from H 3/14.
- 1114, During occupation of firing position at Q-@ 844014, '@/11 Jump CP
and A/l/11 advance party received-incoming automatic weapons fire from
Iraqi vehicle to the Northeast. One A/l/li howitzer engaged Iraqi
forces with direct fire destroying one vehicle and dispersing the
remainder of the force.
- 1201, 5/11 displaced further forward to better range Al @'aber Airfield
and occupied firing positions near grid OT 7999 FireCap ready at 1250.
1.216, H/3/14 engaged two Iraqi Multiple Rocket Launchers (MRL)
preparing to fire at grid QT 855012 with automatic weapons and howitzei-
direct fire destroying one MRL and neutralizing the other.
- 1218, 3/11 displaced batteries forward by echelon with a platoon from
each battery occupying firing pos-liton near grid QT 7703,FireCap ready
at i351.
- 1345, 1/11 completed occupation
