         %)n the evening of 2 February KMA 775 suffered a tragic @oss.        "oyzptv.
       lown by Mai Eugene McCarthy and Capt Jonatnan Edwards, was reporteo missivi,4.
       ne aircrew were operating out of Kibrit airfield in northern Saudi Arabia -A!;.-
       .onducting combat MEDEVAC escort missions on NVG'S.      Marine ground f@rce-A
       Discovered the crashed aircraft near the Kuwaxt border early on tne morning @i
       -. February ano the pilots vere recorded as Killed in Action.      An @'ombat
       Investigation 6o&rd was convened, co  0prised of KMA 775 pilots and the Fligtit
       surgeon. The Executive officer, LtCol Husty was designated as tne senior
       iemb*r. The members relinquished their flying duties and the investigation w
alism.      Results of tne Mi& and iAt3
       nvestigation are pending.
            Operations continued with &Lrcrew on continuous standby for MEZoEVACi-IRAP
              S missions. On 5 February the squadron stood down for a 14@O memorial
       nd   CIF
       or   Mai McCarthy and Capt Edwards. The service was held at the Jubail mess
       ,all and attended by all squadron per onnel and numerous other Marines
       -ncluding the MAG Commanding Officer :nd the Commanding General.
            On 16 February HMA 775 was the lead element in the MAG 26 move to its nei
            of operation on the Gravel Plain; an area of northern Saudi Arabia
        -ticially named Lonesome Dove.
