        SECTION 2 - NARRATIVE SUMMARY


            a. Command, Operations and Training
                Charlie Company became DS to Sth Mar on 910302. At that
        time, the company was still configured as an assault breach company
        task organized with assets from 2d AA Bn, 2d CEB, and several tank
        battalions. Between 3 - 5 March 1991, all engineer tanks and MK 154
        AAV's were returned, with crews, to their parent battalions. C Co Is
        currently organized around 2 combat engineer platoons equipped with
        basic engineer hand tools and demolition equipment, an AAV platoon
        with 7 AAV's and 8 M154 AAVA, and an engineer equipment/motor
        transport section.

                Operations during this period have been in place destruction
        of US/threat ordnance (over 200 items) throughout the Sth Mar AO,
        disposal of 3503 grade III fragmentation grenades, extensive
        earthwork to improve survivability, trafficability, security and
        safety for Sth Mar units, and general engineering support for
        construction of the Division range complex.

                Training has focused at the individual skill and squad
        level. Platoons have trained In subjects from demolition charge
        calculation, engineer reconnaissance, and field fortification to
        infantry weapons familiarization and BST/EST refresher.

            b. Personnel and Administration
                Admin is conducted through parent battalion (2d CEB and 2d
        AABN). OySgt                  wag returned to CONUS on 23 Mar 91 for
        emergency leave.

        Mar 91 due to severe recurring respiratory problems.
