upon exposure. Inhalation of high concentrations can be fatal in 10
minutes. For emergency response, a positive pressure, full facepiece
self-contained breathing apparatus and fully encapsulating suit are
required. The U.S. Department of Transportation classifies lewisite as
poison A.

toxic fumes of oxides of sulfur and chlorine compounds. a Contact with
to small quantities. Health effects include permanent eye damage, severe
respiratory impairment, and fatal pulmonary lesions. Mustard gas is also
} a carcinogen. For emergency response, a positive pressure, full
facepiece, self-contained breathing apparatus and fully encapsulating are

as poison A.
TABUN
.3 Tabun, a nerve agent, is extremely poisonous and toxic by all exposure
pathways: inhalation, skin, eyes, and ingestion. It is an
organophosphorus insectide with effects similar to those of parathion. A
cholinesterase inhibitor, contact with tabun causes death through
`I respiration in 1 to 2 minutes. Liquid in the eyes causes death nearly as
rapidly. Absorption of a fatal dose through the skin may occur in 1 to 2
j minutes, but death may be delayed for 1 to 2 hours. Reaction byproducts
of tabun include toxic fumes of phosphorus and nitrogen oxides, and
hydrolysis of tabun will produce hydrogen cyanide. Exposure to tabun
will cause twitching, jerking, staggering, convulsions, coma, and death.
For emergency response, a positive pressure, full facepiece, self-
contained breathing apparatus and fully encapsulating suit are required.
The U.S. Department of Transportation clasifies tabun as poison A.
