SUB,TECT: Policy Statement on the Pretreatment Use of
          Pyridostig-mine in Aviation Personnel

          S. Pyridostigmine will be administered to aircrew at a dose of 30
milligrams every eight hours. Pretesting of aviation personnel to
determine adverse effects is not required. The decision to use
pyridostigmine should be based upon the presence of a documented
threat and is initiated by the appropriate command authority.
Flight surgeons and APA's are responsible for briefing commanders
and aircrew on potential side affects, monitoring aircrew to
maintain flight safety, and advising flight commanders on all
problems encountered with the administration of this medication.
