From this page you can either browse the dictionary or search for the definition and usage of individual terms. The DOD Dictionary and the Joint Acronyms and Abbreviations master data base are managed by the Joint Doctrine Division, J-7, Joint Staff.

    Your search request can be as simple or complex as you require.

    Searching for a single word: To search all documents on file containing the word "AIR" simply enter --

    AIR

    into the search input field.

    Searching for several words: To search all documents on file containing "Army" and"AIR" enter --

    Army AND "Air"

    into the search input field. The keyword AND must be in upper case .

    Using lower and upper case letters: The search ignores case except in connectors such as "AND" and "OR ".

    AIR

    "Air Force"

    "air force"

    will all work to find the word AIR.
