William H. Taylor, Ph.D., DABT, Environmental Analyst

Dr. Taylor is a Commander in the US Public Health Service. He served nearly seven years with the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry as a Chemist and Senior Health Assessor. In this capacity, Dr. Taylor evaluated potential exposures to contaminants released from Department of Energy facilities and the likelihood they might cause adverse health effects in nearby populations. During this period, Dr. Taylor authored or co-authored over 20 agency reports and became certified as a toxicologist by the American Board of Toxicology. Prior to working with ATSDR, Dr. Taylor served nearly two years with the US Food and Drug Administration where he managed the Biomedical Monitoring program for the Kansas City District Office. Dr. Taylor holds a bachelors degree in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Kansas. He served four years enlisted in the US Army and was assigned to the US Army Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Ft. Detrick where he worked in pathology and physiology laboratories.
