GulfLINK Example Keyword List

The following keyword list is designed to provide examples of keywords that may be used to retrieve documents from the GulfLINK system via the search mechanism. Please note: This list does not, in any way, represent a comprehensive list of all relevant terms. It is provided only to serve as an example.

Also see the Gulf War Cross Reference File for assistance.

New documents are constantly being added to the GulfLINK sytem. Not all keyword examples in the following list are guaranteed to supply document "hits" at this time, but are relevant keyword terms to documents which have populated and will be populating the system in the coming months.

This keyword list is designed to be used with information retrieval algorithms based on Boolean and proximity operators. (See Search Help for more information). The list also uses two specific character replacement conventions: "*" which matches any multiple character string; and "@" which matches any single character.

The list is organized into five categories of potential causes of Persian Gulf veterans' illnesses: chemical, biological, nuclear/radiological, disease/epidemiological, and environmental.
