         MEMORANDUM FOR THE SURGEON GENERAL OF THE AIR FORCE
         SUBJECT: Delegation of Authority

         Pursuant to DOD Directive 3216.2, paragraph F.1.b., I hereby
         authorize the Surgeon General of the Air Force or his designee to
         make the determination that unique military requirements dictate
         the use of medical drugs, antibiotics, biologics, or devices not
         officially approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
