ATTENTION ALL PERSONNEL: CIVIL MILITARY OPERATIONS (CMO)
BULLETIN #001: Remember, "You never get a second chance to make
a first impression". We are representatives of the United States
and should make every effort to present a favorable image. Keep
these guidelines in mind when you go out. Dress conservatively
in public. Men should wear shirts with collars, casual slacks,
and socks. Avoid wearing faded or torn jeans, T - shirts, or
sandals. Tank tops and shorts are never appropriate. Jewelry
such as bracelets, necklaces, and earrings are not to be worn by
men. Women should wear conservative, loose fitting clothing that
covers the arms and legs. Females with long hair should wear it
up; especially blonde hair which is rare in this region. The
black gown (abaya), worn by many Arab women, is a good solution.
The abaya is worn closed with no modifications, such as belts or
necklaces. The object is to keep the female form from being
visible. Adherence to these simple guidelines will help keep you
safe in public and enhance our image with our host.

ANTITERRORISM TIP: All personnel are reminded to be inquisitive
about strangers or personnel who seem to be involved in unusual
activities. This is especially true for personnel who are
carrying suitcases or other containers. Also, be alert for
unattended vehicles parking in unusual places or obviously left
in an area where US personnel are likely to assemble, such as bus
stops. And, as always, be alert for abandoned parcels or other
"out of the ordinary" activity.

DIARRHEA OUTBREAK: The organism identified in the recent
outbreak is called SHIGELLO SONNEI. It is typically spread by
inadequate hand washing. Infected individuals may continue to
have Shigella in their stool for 30 days after infection. To
prevent reinfection, WASH YOUR HANDS!

FINANCE INFORMATION: The Air Force Accounting and Finance Center
(AFAFC) is mailing a direct deposit payroll listing to all
locations for each payday. To find out your paychecks amount
