BACKGROUND - On 14 Aug 90, CENTAF/SG decided to request production of diazepam autoinjectors (under the Army IND) for treatment of nerve agent casualties (should they occur) in its AOR (see point paper this date). - The CENTAF/SG decision led to queries to the other Services concerning any requirement they might have for the item. - As of 1630 on 14 Aug 90 the following requirements have been identified to the Army project officer: CENTAF 30,000 units USN/USMC 45,000 units US Army No decision yet; currently issuing commercially available pre-filled syringes to combat lifesavers RECOMMENDATION: None.
