SUBJECT: MCU-2/P and MCU-2A/P Mask Filters
	1.	There have been reports of personnel changing their filters
to the new MCU-2P and MCU-2A/P mask due to a smell of
ammonia.  There is nothing wrong with the filters with the smell
of ammonia. The final step in filter manufacture is an ammonia
wash.  The smell will last up to 8 hours of wear time.

	2. 	We do not have enough of replacement filters for personnel to
change their filters at will. 

	3.	 DO NOT change the filter to your MCU-2/P and MCU-2A/P/P due to
the smell of ammonia. NBCS will advise. you when and if filter
change is required.
