-- Upon notification of shortages at bases within their MAJCOM the MAJCOM
should first seek to meet the requirement from stocks at other bases
within their RANCOR using overnight mall and other expeditious transport
when necessary to meet deployment deadlines.

-- Should insufficient in-date Memo exist within the MAJCOM the MAJCOM
should immediately contact AFMLO for assistance in obtaining the required
            items.

-- Only if insufficient in-date items are available at the moment of
deployment should expiration dated items be issued to deploying
personnel. However issue of expiration dated items must be done in this
circumstance to insure personnel do not arrive in the AOR without any
CW/BW antidote stocks. Should issue of expiration dated items be
necessary every effort should be made to arrange for exchange of
expiration dated for in-date item as soon as possible after arrival in
            the AOR

      - As shown in the attachment, all known USAF 2-PAM-C1 stocks have now received
shelf-1ife extensions until Apr 92. Some atropine stocks are still in
testing but the OSAF currently has sufficient in-date supplies to meet
        operation DESERT SHIELD requirements.
