           1. MISSION: The mission of the 603d Military airlift Support Group (MASG)
           continues to be that of providing en route support for all military and
           commercial aircraft under Military Airlift Command (MAC) operational control
           transiting  Kadena Air Base, Japan.
           
           2. ORGANIZATION: The Forward Supply Location (FSL) was assigned under the
           Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander for management oversight
           and supervision. The FSL was formerly under the MASG/CC. Lineage and Honors
           are at Appendix 1.
           
           3. RELATIONS WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS: No change from Jul-Dec 90 history.
           
           4. OPERATIONS, TRAINING, AND SAFETY:
           
              a. Operations:
              
           1. Special Assignment  Airlift Missions (SAAM) are found at  Appendix
           6.
           
           2 . The 603d Airlift Control Squadron (ALCS) deployed to Bangladesh
           in support of Operation Sea Angel after a devastating typhoon in May 1991. In
           all, five million pounds of relief supplies were trans-shipped to forward
           staging areas.
           
           3.  The 603d Airlift Control Squadron deployed to NAS Cubi Point,
           Republic of the Philippines in June 1991, after the eruption of Mount Pinatubo
           resulted in the evacuation of Clark AB. The 603d was responsible for the
           initial setup of airlift support which would aid in the evacuation of military
           personnel and their dependents.
           
              b. Training:
              
           1). Joint Airborne/Air Transportability Training (JA/ATT) missions
           are listed in Appendix 7.
           
          2). The 603d ALCS continues to perform MAC affiliation training.
          Units which participated and locations were the 432nd TFW at Misawa AB, Japan;
          2nd ID at Camp Casey, South Korea; 51st TFW at Osan AB, South Korea; VC-5 at
          NAS Cubi Point, Philippines; 3l3th Air Division at Kadena AB, Japan.
          
         3). The 603 MASG has adopted a new program called Total Quality
          management (TQM). It is designed as a customer oriented program and the Group
