SUBJECT:  Opened Chemical Warfare, Defense Ground-crew Ensembles

To:   All  Staff
     .
l. The following guidance applies to any ground-crew-ensembles
(GCE) which were removed from their factory sealed bag.
      
	a. If the individuals did not wear the GCE suit for an
 extended period of time (4 Hours or more) and did not damage the
suit (rips,  holes, heavily soiled,  contaminated with petroleum
products, etc.) they should reseal the GCE in the factory bag, or
a plastic bag if the factory bag is not available. they should
not use these suits until their unopened, operational stocks have
been depleted.
       
	b. If the individual wore the suit for an extended period of
time, then the ACE shelf life countdown began when the factory
sealed bag was opened and the suit donned. Suits in this category
should be replaced based on the following criteria:
       
	 (l) Chemical Protective Overgarment (olive drab) - 14 days.
          
	 (2) Battledress Overgarment (camouflage) - 22 days

          	(3) Damaged/contaminated with POL products - immediately.
          
2. Contact 4409 OSWP/DW for replacement suits [(b)(2)]   Mark
expired or damaged suits,  "FOR TRAINING USE ONLY" and use then as
training ensembles. USCENTAF/POC's are     [(b)(2)]
