File: aackb_01.txtSUBJECT: 4TH TACTICAL HOSPITAL DEPLOYED BRIEFING FOR BGEN ROBERT BUEHTE DESCRIPTION: REPORTS PATIENT STATISTICS, PRODUCTIVITY SECTION, ITEM C. 4TH TACTICAL HOSPITAL DEPLOYED BRIEFING FOR BRIGADIER GENERAL ROBERT BUETHE GENERAL INFORMATION The 4th Tactical Hospital deployed is staffed by members of the 4th Medical Group from the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing, Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina. A four person ADVON team arrived on 11 August 1990, approximately a week prior to the arrival of the main medical contingent. The supplies and equipment for the ATH were propositioned inside the warehouse where the hospital is currently located. The ADVON team was instrumental in locating ATH assets, planning the initial facility layout, and positioning equipment and supplies at their point of intended use within the warehouse. The main contingent arrived on 17 August 1990 and worked round the clock to have an initial operating capability on 19 August 1990. The ATH reached full medical capability on 21 August 1990 and admitted its first patient. The ATH is normally setup in temper tents however, due to the lack of tents and the availability of an environmentally controlled warehouse this hospital was sited inside a permanent structure making it a one of a kind ATH. Radiology department, pharmacy, emergency room, dental clinic, medical supply, 50 bed, medical-surgical ward, warehouse. Bioengineering and environmental health was placed in the vacated radiology ISO-shelter outside the warehouse AEROMEDICAL EVACUATION Fifteen Aircrew members are currently rotated through this location to man a Tactical aeromedical squadron. This unit is currently made up of Air National Guard personnel and active duty members from 2AES. Patients are regulated through the AOR Joint Medical Regulating Office (JMRO) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. SUPPORT UNITS The 4th Tactical Hospital provides medical, dental, logistical , bioenvirnmental engineering, and environmental health support to three Squadron Medical Elements in country: Thumrait, Seeb, and Masirah, Oman.
