The 5th Tactical Aeromedical Staging Facility performed it's
mission during Operation Desert Shield/Storm in an outstanding
manner. Personnel from five separate units were brought together
to fulfill it's mission is an environment and an operational
situation here-to-fore never contemplated nor practiced in an
        exercise.

The 5th TAC ASF was able to build its facility, equip same, train
it's personnel and be operational in just a 5 day period of time.
It performed 15 strategic aeromedical missions flawlessly and
could easily have sustained a work load far in excess of what it
        actually experienced.

There were many harrowing experiences, difficult obstacles and
operational situations to overcome, but the people of this unit
worked together to overcome all of its problems and performed
professionally and outstandingly well. The morale of the unit
        was always excellent.

The performance of all individuals met or exceeded all mission
requirements. People worked tirelessly to meet our mission goals
and with all of our efforts we succeeded in molding an
outstanding organization. I am proud of this unit s
accomplishments and of the people who made it all happen.
