DISCUSSION: Bases were rarely notified of the names of assigned Individuals prior to their arrival. Due to Inadequate pre-screening by ARPC, a number of PIM reported for duty unqualified In their primary AFSC. Some PIM had upgraded their skills subsequent to leaving active duty and were disgruntled to return to earlier AFSC when recalled. Difficulty was experienced In projecting and tracing IMAs as well. RECOMMENDATIONS: AF AFMPC should provide MAJCOMs with names of personnel so that gaining bases could be notified. projected IMA assignments and changes should be reported to the requester. Ensure more thorough screening of the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) and Incorporate flexible reclassifications or commissioning. The whole Issue of how IRR should be mobilized needs to be reviewed. ACTIONS REQUIRED: AFMPC has acknowledged that the system for notification of gaining units must be closely monitored. Message traffic will provide updates until system can be brought up to date. ARPC is developing procedures to periodically get updates on PIM qualifications. Concerning commissioning of PIM personnel, no action Is required.- Enlisted PIM members mobilized have the same opportunity to apply for a commission after recall as any other enlisted personnel meeting commissioning requirements. ACTIONS COMPLETED: N/A STATUS: Recommend closure. -
