ITEM NO. 10 SHORT NOTICE TASKINGS

(SGHR ITEM NO. 1)

BACKGROUND: MAJCOM was notified to Identify IMA backfill requirements on a
Sunday morning of a three day weekend with responses due back In 24-hours.
Key players In the MAJCOM staff were not available because It was a weekend.
A revised list submitted later In the week was misinterpreted as additional
requirements, not changed requirements.

DISCUSSION: No negative mission Impact occurred as a result. However, more
resources that the minimum necessary were activated to AFSC units. Shifting
excess resources within and between commands absorbed a great deal of staff
time that could have been otherwise used

RECOMMENDATION: Avoid short suspense's on weekends for Immediate action
through pre-planning.

ACTIONS REQUIRED: MAJCOM Identify "on-call" officer during mobilization
Week-end taskings were a result of the requirements of the war. Advance
planning can not be made, if decisions out of the control of the office have
not been finalized.

ACTIONS COMPLETED: N/A
STATUS: CLOSED
