totally destroyed, four had limited damage, and one was untouched. Many live
submunitions were also found at this site, BLU-63 and MK-l18(VECP Mod). The
Iraqi EOD/Engineer was on-site with us. He said that he had cleared this area
in the morning be fore we arrived by hand carrying the bomblets to a hole for
disposal. There was also evidence that they tray haste been using a SMUD
technique for the MK-118. There were a lot of mechanically broken up bomblets
in the area. Munitions. used in the area: MK-20, MK-118, CBU-58/B. When
leaving the area we passed by five vehicles that had been hit by SUU-30's.
Vehicles were all burnt-out and the road was severely pockmarked with BLU-63
holes. At most of the sites that we visited, dispenser half shells and packing
    material were found.

Team re reinspected Wadi Ar Raqta missile site. The launcher arms
were destroyed but the bases were not. We suggested that the whole foundation
    be destroyed.

5 Oct 91: Wadi Amij missile site. Inspected seven missile launcher sites in
the area. The helicopter pad that the UN helicopter landed on had a large
spall in the middle of it. Upon father inspection the remains of a MK-84 no
section was found laying about 30 feet away full of explosives. An FMU-8l/E
fuse was also found dud. It appeared that the bomb hit the pad and low
ordered or broke up and the fuse did not function. One live BLU-9, and MK-1
were found along with several MK-339 fuzes that had fired. Several of the
launchers were hit and destroyed by bombs. There were several misses at this
site and GBlJ-12 bomb fiins were found in the area.

Qasr Amij missile site. All laucher arms were removed from the
bases and gathered in one central location. Iraqi's were directed to destroy
them and would be reinspected at a later date. The area seemed to be a RPG
pratice area. Many dud RPG-7 warheads were found in the area.

Qasr Amij West missile site. This inspection was done from the
air and about ten launchers were found. We saw several SA-2 missile tgail
sections in the area.

6 Oct 91: Team packed all gear and departed the housing area. Team inspected
several missile launcher sites by air on the return trip to Baghdad. Team
landed at a storage facility between the Western Zone and Baghdad for an
undeclared inspection. Helicopter landed and EOD made a sweep around the
helicopter pad. We found several dud BLU-97 bomblets and one fired 107mm
rocket with the fuze sheared off. Team inspected three bunkers and only fo?
55 gallon drums of an unknown, smelly chemical. We found several half shell
for CBU-87/B dispensers but no submunitions. Iraq had declared 28 fixed
launcher sites in the Western Zone and we ended up finding 41. Team returned
to Baghdad and checked into the Palestine Hotel.

7 Oct 91: Team inspected Al Karm electronics manufacturing plant. Ths area
was suspected of manufacturing SCUD missile guidance sections. No UN
resolution items were discovered. Most of the equipment was removed from the
building and this appeared to have been done in a hurry. Wires were ripped
out of the walls and mounting bolts were sheared off a the floor. The plant
supervisor said that this area was previously used for manufacturing T-72 T?
tracking and fire control hardware.

Inspected Escandaria warehousing facility. Team inspected supergun
destruction progress. This site contained one complete 1000mm gun, one 350?
traversing gun, and two thirds of a fixed 350mm gun. The total length of the
350mm gun is 75m and 1000mm gun is 150m. The flanges were being cut off
