          SUBJECT: Avenue of Approach Trafficability Survey


          1. (4    Request authority to conduct a detailed trafficability
          survey of enemy avenues of approach leading into Eastern Province
          from occupied Kuwait. The purpose of the survey will be to
          determine the amount and type of traffic the various avenues of
          approach will support. The information collected on this survey
          will be useful to Eastern Province and United States forces in
          their continued efforts to improve their defense.

          2.  WI The area to be surveyed is the area between Xhafji and
          the western border of the Eastern Province Sector, north of the
          10th Me6hanized,Brigade and 2nd SANG Bde, and nouth of the
          screening force along the border.
          3.  (JO The survey team will consist of approximately 15
          personnel and-5 vehicles.

          4. U*. Itaquest the team be authorized to conduct the survey
          during the period of 23 October through 30 October.
