     1. PURPOSE: TO ANNOUNCE TIIAT THE 24TH ID AND ATTACHED FORCES WILL
     MOVE TO HOPP I POSTURE AS THE BASE CASE EFFECTIVE 2400 MRS 15 JAN.

            A.  WEAR YOUR CPDG. CARRY YOUR PROTECTIVE MASK 24 MRS A DAY.
     KEEP YOUR GLOVES, PROTECTIVE BOOTS, AND HELMET COVER AVAILABLE.

            B.  BE PREPARED TO BEGIN TAKING PB TABLETS (ONE EVERY EIGHT
     HOURS) ON  ORDER.


            C.  COMPANY/BATTERY COMMANDERS FROM THEN ON WILL ADJUST HOPP
     BASED ON METT-T CONDITIONS.

     2. CPOGS: CHEMICAL PROTECTIVE OVERGARMENTS (CPOGIS) PROVIDE
     PROTECTION AGAINST CHEMICAL AGENTS UNDER ALL FIELD CONDITIONS
     INCLUDING RAIN, COLD, HEAT AND MUD. THE SUIT PROVIDES PROTECTION
     IN TWO WAYS.


            A. FIRST, THE OUTER COTTON/NYLON MATERIAL ACTS AS A BARRIER
     TO PREVENT LIQUID CHEMICAL AGENTS FROM CONTACTING THE SKIN. THE
     OUTER BARRIER IS EFFECTIVE AGAINST LIQUID AGENTS AS LONG AS IT IS
     NOT RIPPED OR TORN.


            B. SECONDLY AN INNER CHARCOAL IMPREGNATED FOAM LAYER ABSORBS
     AGENT VAPORS THAT PENETRATE THE OUTER LAYER. IN FIELD
     CONCENTRATIONSIBLISTER AGENTS (MUSTARD) ARE THE ONLY CLASS OF
     AGENTS PRESENTING A VAPOR HAZARD TO THE SKIN.
